Turns out there is an upside to the recession. It pushed new author Mimi Keener to finally make her 30-year-old dream of publishing a book a reality. When she was laid off she decided that she would start a new career as a children’s book author. This week she’s on a six-city tour of Iowa, promoting The Best of Friends, the book that chronicles her life growing up on a farm.
