Elizabeth Rice Handford was born on May 18, 1927, and married Walt Handford, who pastored Southside Baptist Church of Greenville, SC, for thirty-one years. She is a mother of seven, grandmother of eighteen, great-grandmother of nineteen, an honors graduate of Wheaton College, holds a private pilot's license, and is a lifelong student of the Scriptures. She has written many books and Bible studies, including her best-known work, "Me? Obey Him?," which sold over 650,000 copies. Elizabeth is a regular contributing author to The Joyful Woman magazine.
