Nikki Hertzler lives at the foot of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and loves exploring them with her husband Jeff, their children, and their friends. In her day job, Nikki is a full-time teacher who loves sharing the joys of reading with her students. When her three children were approaching adulthood and the inevitable "empty nest" drew near, Nikki and her husband Jeff looked at each other and said, "Let's foster." Thus began their chaotic new parenting era. In the last few years, they have hosted nearly a dozen children from newborn to nine years old. Each day is filled with the special situations that make her knees creak from being on them so much in front of her Lord God.
