Tear Down the Church: The Ideas of Man Versus the Word of God

The largest problem we have today is that God’s people are dying because of a lack of knowledge. This triggers what Charles Spurgeon called “the downgrade.” The downgrade did not cease during the time of Spurgeon, it has lived on and only grown darker. One of the biggest issues we are faced with is the lack of the centrality of Christ. The church has been influenced by both internal and external sources all the while leaving holy Scripture to accumulate dust. Many things will be addressed in this book, dealing with leadership in the church and leadership in the family. What sets this book apart from others is the deep dive to the source of issues and identifying ultimate answers for problems we are faced with. It starts in shallow water so that the infant will not be intimidated. Each chapter adds to the foundation, going deeper and deeper into theological truth. It deals with deeper things rather than scraping over the surface. It also encourages, builds, magnifies God and focuses on our ultimate purpose in life: to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever. Each chapter is designed to keep your attention because they seem to change the feel of the book, keeping it fresh and not redundant. The more you read the more you realize that the feel of the book is balanced and directed toward an end goal. You will be challenged and encouraged. I have felt an urgency to write Tear Down the Church and hope that God uses it to edify His church.
