About the Author: Barbara Collins is a native of Anderson, South Carolina. She is a retired elementary teacher specializing in reading. She has a B.A. and a Masters degree in education from Clemson University and 33 years teaching experience. Her family has been involved in the sport of water skiing for 40 years on a Regional, National and International level.
About the illustrator: Gale McKinley is an award-wining artist. She is an artist-in-residence with the South Carolina Arts Commission. McKinley lives in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of South Carolina on a farm with her husband and works out of her studio in the loft of their old dairy barn. Water Baby Learns to Ski is the fourth book that she has illustrated.
