#Throwback Thursday: Warrior Poets of the 21st Century by Robin Mark

posted on

As we reminisce on the over forty years that God has blessed Ambassador International to remain in business, we are highlighting a different #backlistbook each week in a series called #ThrowbackThursday.

Today we’re highlighting the book Warrior Poets of the 21st Century: A Biblical and Personal Journey in Worship by Robin Mark for our #ThrowbackThursday. Robin Mark is a Northern Irish Christian Robin Mark, Author of Warrior Poets of the 21st Centurysinger, songwriter, worship leader, and recording artist based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and he may be most known for his song “Days of Elijah.” We were {are!} thrilled to partner with him in bringing the message of Warrior Poets of the 21st Century to the world at large. Warrior Poets of the 21st Century was published by Ambassador International in 2007.

What is Warrior Poets of the 21st Century about? Worship. It’s about how absolutely important worship is and how, perhaps, it is the highest calling and occupation of the believer. But it’s not about excellence of musicianship in played and sung worship. It’s #Throwback Thursday: Warrior Poets of the 21st Century by Robin Marknot about personalities or individuals, or specially gifted folks, or style, or technique. It’s not a ‘how to’ book, or a work book, or a ‘here’s a service schedule that’s bound to work’ type book. It’s about how God calls us all to be His worshippers and how, perhaps, every single one of us can, through a deeper understanding of worship, make an impact and a difference in the society in which we live.

“Never let the pursuit of excellence be the pursuit of your heart.”

#Throwback Thursday: Walking in the Word: A Family Journey From Genesis to Revelation

posted on

As we reminisce on the over forty years that God has blessed Ambassador International to remain in business, we are highlighting a different #backlistbook each week in a series called #ThrowbackThursday.

Today’s #ThrowbackThursday book isn’t quite as old as the others have been, but that doesn’t make it any less important! In fact, while all our books are important to us, we are especially fond of this book because as Christian families it is good to discover how to apply the whole of God’s Word to our lives, and this family devotional helps us do just that.

Walking in the Word: A Family Journey From Genesis to Revelation was written by Carolyn Wells and published on December 1, 2015. Carolyn lives near Glasgow in Scotland, has been married to Alan for twenty-four years, and has three grown children. They have been involved in church pastoral ministry for over twenty years. As well as being a pastor’s wife and a mother, Carolyn works as a radiographer in a local hospital and is involved in the children’s ministry in their church.

The readings in Walking in the Word give your family a chance to read God’s Word together, discuss the things that affect your lives, encourage each other in your faith, and helps you reach out to tell others the Good News of Jesus.

Walking in the Word will help your family read through the story of the Bible together, finding out how it all fits together and how it can affect our lives today, and this family devotional includes some practical activities, memory verses, and encouragement to pray for others and will encourage spiritual growth for both the parents and the children.

Walking in the Word is a flexible book, to be used in the way that suits your own family best, and we hope it will be a wonderful resource for you and your family.

#Throwback Thursday: The Brontës: Veins Running Fire

posted on

As we reminisce on the over forty years that God has blessed Ambassador International to remain in business, we are highlighting a different #backlistbook each week in a series called #ThrowbackThursday.

This week’s book is The Brontës: Veins Running Fire by Derick Bingham, a fellow native of County Down in Northern Ireland, and published by Ambassador International in 2008.

The story of the Brontë family is one of incredible romance, immense genius, and haunting sadness.

Patrick’s notable daughters Emily, Charlotte, and Anne came onto the pages of literary history with, amongst other work, their novels Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre, and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall which now grip the imagination of millions of people in the twenty-first century. Branwell, the most promising of Patrick’s children is mourned for the wreck of his talent. All had the fire of deep emotions running in their veins.

In the The Brontës: Veins Running Fire, Derick Bingham seeks to trace the influence of Patrick Brontë’s unfaltering evangelical faith on the lives and work of all his children. Here is faith in the face of unremitting tragedy, imagination soaring out of pitiful sadness and doubt vying with hope for dominance.

The world will truly never see such a literary family again whose life story is every bit as fascinating as their fiction. You can learn more about The Brontës: Veins Running Fire and find purchase links HERE. This book is available in ebook, audio, and paperback. Don’t miss this fascinating story!

#Throwback Thursday: Treasury of Daily Devotions, compiled by Charles Edwards

As we reminisce on the over forty years that God has blessed Ambassador International to remain in business, we’ve decided to highlight a different #backlistbook each week throughout the year in a series called #ThrowbackThursday.

It has been said that “We stand on the shoulders of giants” in reference to the legacy of those who walked with God in previous generations.

Treasury of Daily Devotions was originally compiled by Charles Edwards and published by Ambassador International in 2012. This daily devotional brings us the writings of influential Christians in previous eras, including C.H. Spurgeon, F.B. Meyer, Catherine Booth, Matthew Henry, George Mueller, R.A. Torrey, E.M. Bounds, John Wesley, D.L. Moody, Frances Havergal, J.C. Ryle, Andrew Murray, John Owen, Amy Carmichael, John Bunyan, Robert Murray McCheyne, A.W. Tozer, Martin Luther, J. Hudson Taylor, and many other people of faith.

The zeal of these men and women will challenge us to go forward in the Christian life and be equipped to serve the Lord. Spiritual growth, like physical growth, requires careful nurture. For this we need help from God and from His servants sent to encourage us along the way. May this “Cloud of Witnesses” minister to our timeless needs.
